The culture media are designed to guarantee the viability of isolated microorganisms and are used for the enrichment of bacteria to acquire a sufficient number of cells for further examination.

Prepared Culture Media should be storedat 2- 8°C.

Media containing blood has90 days of expiry and plain media has150 Days of expiry if stored at 2-8°C.

Expiry Date on Certificate of analysis represent the expiry of the product till the mentioned date of specified month.

For Example, if Expiry Date is 23/07/2023 (DD/MM/YYYY) means product can be used up to 23/07/2023.

YES, FTI can customize any plate required and plan the production accordingly.

YES, Chromogenic agars give specific colors.

e.g.:

1. Chromogenic agar strep B: Group B Streptococcus gives pink color colonies, and other Microorganism Blue, colorless or inhibited.

2. Chromogenic agar for Candida, gives different colors based on species, e.g. Candida albicans gives light green color, Candida tropicalis gives blue to purple color.

 

10 pcs per plate are packed in a Mono carton and 20 Mono cartons in one Master carton.

No, once expired, FTI recommends immediate discarding of the product.

Prepared culture media have certificate of analysis which can be accessed on our website www.ftihealthcare.ae, or you may contact our Technical Team for the same. Each certificate of analysis lists the organisms used for the Quality control of the medium.

It is recommended to always warm the media to room temperature before inoculating. Some bacteria are sensitive to the cold (e.g., N. gonorrhoeae). Excess condensation on the surface of the plate can be evaporated by placing plates in the incubator for a short period.

  • Always store and incubate your plates in the inverted position (media on top, lid on bottom). This prevents moisture from reaching the surface of the agar, which can cause contamination.
  • Always store media in the dark. Never place plated media near the condenser fans in a large refrigerator. This will cause excessive drying of your media.
  • Never leave plated media on the bench at room temperature for more than a few hours.
  • Rotate your stock by using the oldest lots first.
